SoftExpert Excellence Suite is now available with a new feature. SoftExpert Excellence Suite now supports a new method of user provisioning through the SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) protocol. This protocol is a standard for automating the exchange of user identity information between identity domains or IT systems.
What is user provisioning?
User provisioning is the act of creating, modifying, disabling and/or deleting user account records available in one or more systems. User account provisioning is one of many identity management procedures, defining different ways to manage a user’s digital identity and their authorization rights. Provisioning tools also automatically aggregate and correlate identity data for HR, CRM, e-mail systems, and other user identity storage systems. In addition to creating user identities, automatic provisioning also maintains and removes user identities when status or functions change. In general, this process reduces the risk of information being accessed without authorization, which is only granted when necessary and allowed.
An effective user provisioning practice offers myriad benefits for your organization. From an internal and auditing standpoint, it is one way of guaranteeing that functions are separate. In terms of productivity, it streamlines routine processes, since it eliminates the need to manually organize access for each employee on each system.
In this format, SoftExpert Suite will make available to the directory service the methods so that, when there is any update of information in the IdP (Identity Provider) it will proactively pass this update to the system.
Benefits of SCIM Protocol
With this update, it will no longer be necessary to process a large volume of information on a daily basis, which will provide SoftExpert customers with three major benefits:
- Performance gain;
- Reduction of processing waste;
- Receiving updated information instantly.
